Absolver (Thunderhawk)
The Absolver was a Thunderhawk of the Ultramarines Chapter's 2nd Company.[1a]

It was used by Combat Squad Damocles, when the 2nd Company aided in the defense of the Tyranid invaded Recidious System. Under the command of Lieutenant Demetrian Titus, the Squad aided in the evacuation efforts of the doom Recidious world Kadaku, which included reclaiming its lost Orbital Defence Cannons[1a] and extracting the important Archmagos Nozick Beta-12. However Nozick refused to leave for the Battle Barge Resilient, from the 8th Cadian base he was secured in, until the Archmagos collected the data of his secret project from his facility. He told Titus of this, after the Absolver touched down at the base, and Nozick stated the data would have to be manually transmitted to him, by someone within the facility. The Lieutenant took on the task with the aid of the Squad members Gadriel and Chairon, while leaving Lyreo and Altareus to guard the Archmagos. The Astra Militarum base was later under attack by the Tyranids, when Nozick successfully received the data from Titus. Though they were still near the facility, the Lieutenant told Lyreo to immediately board the Absolver and evacuate the Archmagos to the Resilient. The order was obeyed at once, and the two Intercessors left with Nozick aboard the Thunderhawk, along with the Archmagos' research.[1b]
However, before they could get far, the Thunderhawk was wracked with explosions and began to crash. No one on the ground had seen what had hit the Absolver, but it landed in an area held by the Tyranids. When Titus, Gadriel and Chairon reached the Thunderhawk,[1b] they could see that everyone aboard it had died.[1c] This had been no accident, though, as the Absolver's remains were daubed with the markings of Chaos, along with the name of Imurah and that Nozick had been purposely impaled upon a part the Thunderhawk's wreckage.[1b] It was soon discovered, that this had been the work of the Thousand Sons Sorcerer Lord Imurah, who then launched his own invasion of the Recidious System.[1d] The surviving members of Combat Squad Damocles would then use the Thunderhawk Lance of Jove, as they fought against the Sorcerer Lord and Tyranids.[1c]
