Bedaris Hyrus was a Silver Templars Assault Intercessor Sergeant, who took part in the Indomitus Crusade.[1]

History

He was among his Chapter's forces that liberated their future Homeworld Novaris and his efforts were honoured after the battle. Marneus Calgar himself presented Hyrus with an ancient Ultramarines boltgun and the Sergeant used the relic as he continued to fight in the Indomitus Crusade. Sometime later, the Silver Templars went to the aid of the Imperial world Pendata, which had nearly been overwhelmed by the Serpent's Teeth Warband and their Cult allies. Three of the Chapter's Strike Cruisers were sent and they attacked the Warband's flagship, the Whisper above Pendata. Unfortunately due to the skill of its Captain Krozier Va'kai and the fact that the Strike Cruisers did not fight together, the Whisper kept them at bay. However after one of the Strike Cruisers was destroyed, the remaining two Silver Templar warships deployed their forces to Pendata.[1]

Captain Va'kai would warn the Serpent's Teeth of this and the Warband's Eighth and Ninth Fang squadrons seized a number of Hydra Flak Tanks. As the Silver Templars' transports raced towards the Warband's location, the Fang squadrons opened fire and destroyed several of them. Sergeant Hyrus was among the many that were able to land, however, and the Silver Templars overwhelmed the two Fang squadrons. With the immediate threat dealt with, the Chapter's forces split into squadrons and began hunting for the other members of the Serpent's Teeth. Hyrus' squadron soon found the Warband's Harrowmaster, Drazus Jate, and his high ranking cohort Solomon Akurra and the Sergeant gave the order to charge at them. However the two had planted Melta Bombs, which exploded when the Silver Templars stepped upon them. This destroyed the legs of most of Hyrus' squadron, leaving only the Sergeant and the squad member Jesar to attack the two Serpent's Teeth. Hyrus would then fight the Harrowmaster, but was soon overwhelmed by the more skilled Jate. However the Harrowmaster began toying with the Sergeant and after Akurra had killed Jesar, he then severely wounded Hyrus. This angered the Harrowmaster, but Akurra criticized Jate for drawing out the fight and wasting time they did not have. Akurra then claimed he would kill the Sergeant, if the Harrowmaster did not and Jate did so, before Hyrus could reach a bolt pistol.[1]
