The Voidscarred, sometimes known as Dragon Squads^[4b] or Thunder Squads,^[4a] are the elite troops of the Eldar Corsairs, often composed of veteran corsairs.^[2]

Overview

Corsair Voidscarred^[3a]

Corsairs known as Voidscarred are amongst the most hardened of their kin who have spent many centuries plying the stars. These individuals naturally find one another, for few others can relate to the wide variety of experiences they have had. All are possessed of strong personality and immense martial prowess, with unique combat preferences and fighting styles which include lethal snipers, heavy weapons specialists, master bladesmen, and potent Psykers. All have tested their abilities against a wide variety of foes such as the Orks, Humans, Gnostari, Forces of Chaos, Tyranids, and even other Eldar. Many have earned a degree of infamy amongst their own kind for their ruthless deeds or for the extent their souls have been hardened by a lifetime of space travel.^[3a]

Many Voidscarred fight as standard warriors wielding weapons such as Shuriken Weapons, Fusion Weapons, Neuro Disruptors, Shredders, Ranger Long Rifles, and Power Swords^[3c]. However they also operate specialists such as Shade Runners, Soul Weavers, Kurnathi, Fate Dealers, Kurnite Hunters, Starstorm Duelists, and Way Seekers.^[3a]

• The Rogue Trader army book The Book of the Astronomican (1988) included rules for squads of Dragon Squads, veteran infantry among the Eldritch Raiders,^[4b] and Thunder Squads, veteran infantry among the Eldar mercenaries of Crangor's Buccaneers.^[4a]
