Crucis, also referred to as Holy Crucis,[6] is a core-world of the Moebian Domain. Crucis has continually served as a bastion of Imperial authority and stability in the Moebian Domain, alongside the more powerful Atoma Prime. Crucis is the seat of power for the Ecclesiarchy in the Moebian Domain.[1b]
In the many cathedrals and chapels of the world, the mixed smells of smoke from candles and incense with a just a hint of blood from self-flagellation is commonly encountered.[4]

History
Main article: Moebian Domain
Early in the Great Crusade M30, Crucis was the second world of what would become the Moebian Domain to be discovered, shortly after Atoma Prime was. Crucis was ordered to cede authority to the more powerful world of Atoma Prime. The discovery of Crucis marks the point where Atoma Prime is renamed as such to fit its new designation as system capital and the creation of the office of Governor or Sector Lord, ruled by the first Lord Moebian. The nascent Imperium's expeditionary fleet would go on to eradicate all xenos threats on Komaris, Karnas, and Infidus Brim. Komaris would go on to become a bastion against Fringe War threats. The fleet would move on from the newly established Moebian Domain, leaving the remnants of those ancient darktide threats to be cleaned up by the local Moebian forces.[2c]
During the Heresy the Moebian Domain would remain staunchly loyal. However, in the aftermath of the Horus Heresy in M31, an interim government for the Moebian Domain was stationed on Crucis as Atoma recovered back to full production capacity. The Moebian Naval Battle Fleets were moved from Atoma Prime to Crucis during this time, as well as administrative power was willingly given back to Atoma Prime later on in M42. The Naval Battlefleet Depot was moved back to Atoma Prime.[2c]
The Moebian Domain would face near catastrophe due to increasing fringe threats in M33-35. Sometime in M36, Crucis would be designated a Shrine World.[2d] Crucis is the assumed center of the Ecclesiarchy's power in the domain.

[Help]
The forest camouflage pattern, "Crucis Nightshade Camo", was made famous in part by their participation in a long ago campaign on Messelina Gloriana, before the distant world received that name. Those few foes who survived those battles gained a new respect for the shadows.[5b] Engaged in the Haareus Campaign, where seven regiments – including the Moebian Steepleguard and the Pyran Dragoons – defeated a Tau enclave amidst the fire-blasted dunes of Haareus Delta.[5c] They are also fond of Kantrael heavy las pistols.[6]
Militias
"Many of the chapels and shrines of Crucis recruit their own militia units, sending them forth to do great deeds and to spread the Emperor's Word."[5a]
