The Firehowlers were one of the twelve active Great Companies of the Space Wolves.[1]

The company specialized in close combat tactics, and legend says that their Wolf Lord, Sven Bloodhowl, and his vanguard breathed fire into their enemies' ranks as they advance.[2a] The Firehowlers tattoo themselves with Sven Bloodhowl’s volcanic icon, the Fire Breather, alongside runes and scenes from their own sagas.[1]

- 999.M41 - The 13th Black Crusade. Sven Bloodhowl leads a boarding operation of the Blackstone Fortress Will of Eternity. He is ultimately able to disable its shields, allowing the Phalanx to destroy the Fortress at the cost of his own life.[4] The Wolf Guard of the Space Wolves debated his fate for a time and classified him as missing.[6]
