Kyree Helmawr
Kyree Helmawr was a breathtaking Noble of Necromunda's ruling House Helmawr and was also the 5th Trueborn daughter of Gerontius Helmawr, the Hive World's 137th Planetary Governor.[2]
History
She was a shameless narcissist and vicious socialite, who wore Psychofamile Perfume[2] and was seldom seen outside the obscura dens of Hive Primus' pleasure dome[1a]. Kyree was also known for her sharp tongue and causal boredom, which had caused the downfall of more than one of Necromunda's Noble families.[2]
In M42, her status became gravely important when the Great Darkness began on Necromunda, during which Kyree's father Gerontius was attacked by an assassin. While the Planetary Governor survived, Gerontius was left fatally wounded and had to be placed within a Stasis Casket in order to save his life. This left the Hive World without leadership, and fighting erupted between the Governor's Trueborn heirs who sought to succeed their Father. Kyree would be among those who voiced that they should be the rightful successor to take command of Necromunda[1a] and many of her siblings were killed as the Great Darkness raged. She managed to survive though and was among[2] the fourteen[1b] who still lived, when her sister Haera called for a meeting between the Trueborn. She claimed she wanted to put an end to the conflict between them and instead work towards declaring a new Planetary Governor for Necromunda. Kyree and five other siblings attended the meeting, but it soon broke down into arguments between the Trueborn. Her brothers Kartar, Gilbarn and Horlun did not wish to rule and put their support behind their eldest surviving sibling Yvetta, who had aided their Father in ruling the Hive World for many years. Yvetta refused to succeed Gerontius though and stated they should wait for him to recover. Meanwhile Kyree and her brother Nyco, argued against both waiting and on Yvetta becoming Necromunda's next Planetary Governor.[2]
Haera did as well and it was at that moment she enacted her plot to succeed her Father, by killing her rival Trueborn heirs. The entire meeting had been a ruse for her to gather them all in one place, though she might not have acted against them, if Kyree had not planned on becoming Planetary Governor herself and Nyco did not enjoy turning his siblings against each other. Their presence led Haera to attack the six Trueborn and in the battle that followed, most moved to retaliate against their traitorous sister. However her weapon skills and trickery using a Mirror Aegis, allowed Haera to overcome them. Soon only Kyree remained standing, as the battle neared its end, but wearing Psychofamile Perfume, gave her an advantage over Haera. It made those who smelled the perfume feel affection for Kyree, which was added to the stirring adulation Haera already felt for her sister. Though the scheming Trueborn wanted to kill Kyree, the Perfume's effects prevented it from happening and also caused Haera to doubt herself. This allowed Kyree to wear down Haera's defenses, but before she could claim victory, Kyree suddenly collapsed onto the floor. This revealed their now panicked brother Horlun, who had been hiding beneath a table for most of the battle. He had chosen that moment to emerge, in order to kill Haera with the Digi-Laser he wielded, but had fatally shot Kyree by mistake instead. A smiling Haera then killed Horlun as he tried to escape and with his death, six Trueborn no longer stood in her way[2]. With most[1b] of her siblings now gone, Haera was able to take command of House Helmawr and succeeded her Father as the new ruler of Necromunda.[2]
