Yvetta Helmawr
Yvetta Helmawr was a noble of Necromunda's ruling House Helmawr and was also the second trueborn daughter of Gerontius Helmawr, the hive world's 137th Planetary Governor.[1]
History
She had aided her father in executing his rule on the hive world for many years and was a veteran of the political savagery that resided within Hive Primus's spire. Yvetta was aged in appearance due to her long life and was described as having a hatchet-like face by her trueborn sister Haera. Her younger sibling also said that Yvetta had a permanent scowl on her face which warned away anyone who came too close.[1]
In M42, Necromunda suffered under the Great Darkness, during which Gerontius was attacked by an assassin. While the Planetary Governor survived, he was left fatally wounded and had to be placed within a Stasis Casket in order to save his life. This left the Hive World without leadership, and fighting erupted between Gerontius' Trueborn heirs who sought to succeed their father. Many were killed in the Great Darkness, but Yvetta was among[1] the fourteen[2] who still survived, when Haera called for a meeting between her siblings. She claimed she wanted to put an end to the conflict between them and instead work towards declaring a new Planetary Governor for Necromunda. Yvetta and five other siblings attended the meeting, but it soon broke down into arguments between the Trueborn. Her brothers Kartar, Gilbarn and Horlun did not wish to rule and put their support behind Yvetta, due to her being their eldest surviving sibling and her years of aiding their father in ruling the Hive World. Yvetta refused to succeed Gerontius, though, and stated they should wait for him to recover. Meanwhile, Nyco and his sister Kyree argued against both waiting and Yvetta becoming Necromunda's next planetary governor.[1]
Haera did as well and it was at that moment she enacted her plot to succeed her father, by killing her rival Trueborn heirs. The entire meeting had been a ruse for her to gather them all in one place, though she might not have acted against them if Kyree had not planned on becoming planetary governor herself and Nyco did not enjoy turning his siblings against each other. Their presence led Haera to attack the six Trueborn and in the battle that followed, most moved to retaliate against their traitorous sister. However, Haera held her own through her weapon skills and a believable projection of herself that was cast by a Mirror Aegis. She was also indirectly aided by her brother Nyco who fatally poisoned Kartar with a Haemophagic Blade. Nyco was soon killed by Haera and after his death Yvetta and Kyree attacked her. However, it was at that moment that a nearly dead Kartar slowly began making his way to his siblings while holding an activated Vortex Grenade. His three sisters stopped fighting upon seeing the weapon, with both Haera and Kyree becoming frozen in fear. Yvetta attempted to disarm Kartar, but he collapsed at her feet when she neared him. This caused the vortex grenade to explode into a tear in reality which pulled both Yvetta and Kartar into the warp. The breach then began expanding and the chamber the meeting was being held in would have been consumed as well had its empyric dampers not then activated and caused the tear to fade away. The rest of the trueborn in the meeting died soon afterward[1], and with most[2] of her siblings now gone, Haera was able to take command of House Helmawr and succeed her father as the new ruler of Necromunda.[1]
