Oud Oudia Raskian was the Fabricator-General of Mars and served as one of the High Lord of Terra, during the Thirteenth Black Crusade.[1a] Raskian also led the Martian Synod.[4a]

Overview

Due to his extensive cybernetic augmentation, Oud was more building than man and thus was the most difficult High Lord to speak to directly. Moving his form to the Great Chamber of the Senatorum Imperialis required extensive logistical work and construction.[1b] Some compare his form to being functionally akin to a bloated insect queen, unable to move and forever attended by his slave-workers.[3b]

History

Raskian's exact age is unclear, but it is readily evident he was many hundreds of years old at minimum, based solely on the construction time of his each of his hulking mechanical storage modules that had become his body. For about 563 years prior to the fall of Cadia Raskian and his Tech-Priest have been aware of and investigating the failing of mechanisms of the Areopeia Junction region of the Golden Throne's mechanisms; no remedies have been found.[3b]

In 986.999.M41, it was discovered that the faltering and fading light of the Astronomicon is far beyond the ability of the Adeptus Mechanicus to repair.[7][8] Multiple desperate contingency plans were set in motion, one being for Xanthites to be sent to through the Exhubris Portal in order to travel to Commoragh and strike a deal with the Dark Eldar for aid in repairing the failing Golden Throne.[7]

During the Fall of Cadia in Abaddon's 13th Black Crusade, Raskian was among the High Lords most against the proposal of dissolving the Edict of Restraint put forth by Chancellor of the Imperial Council Lev Tieron that would have allowed the Adeptus Custodes to leave Terra.[1b] According to Tieron, what Raskian feared most was that his organisation's uncertainty over the very technology they claim mastery over is exposed.[1c]

A dark deal to repair the Golden Throne would eventually be struck.[2] At this point it is estimated that the Golden Throne will suffer complete failure sometime within a century or two, at best, or within a decade, at worst.[3b] Alongside Master of the Astronomican Leops Franck and Speaker for the Chartist Captains Kania Dhanda, Oud Oudia Raskian was one of the three High Lords of Terra who collaborated with Lord Inquisitor Adamara Rassilo to smuggle a Dark Eldar Haemonculus onto Terra in order to repair the failing Golden Throne.[2]

Raskian eventually traveled into Commorragh itself to complete his transactions with Archon Shae-Morvain of the Kabal of the Still-Living Knife, though according to Erasmus Crowl his plan only delayed the death of the Golden Throne by a few centuries. Crowl, his retinue, and the Custodian Navradaran intervened and caused fighting to break out between the Imperium and the Kabal's forces. As the two sides tore at each other, Raskian's core unit attempted to flee.[3c]

Afterwards, Raskian was declared missing and presumed dead. Some claim to have details regarding his death.[5] Xasandera Valdet was later appointed as Mars' Fabricator-General in his place.[6]

Cawl & Raskian

Rumours spread that Archmagos Dominus Cawl sought to use his powerful position within the Imperium to replace Raskian as Mars' Fabricator-General. However when he was directly asked about this, during a conclave with several high-ranking Magi of the Adeptus Mechanicus, Cawl denied he had any desire to do so, and that even if he truly wanted to he did not have the means to replace Raskian.[4c] However, Raskian still hates Cawl. The Archmagos believes that the Fabricator General fears he has gone rogue and seeks to gather enough followers and power in order to supplant him as Fabricator General of Mars.[4b]
