Parchett
Parchett is a Scribe in the Imperium's Administratum.[1b]
History
He was assigned to the Mordian 24th Regiment, during the Third War for Armageddon and was tasked with recording the outcome of the conflict for the Administratum's records.[1b] When the 24th was set to counter-attack against Ork forces on the Sulphur River, however,[1a] Parchett was left behind, along with the other civilians attached to the Regiment. Instead, they were placed with Captain Kaine's 3rd Platoon,[1b] which was charged with guarding the 24th's supplies, within a ruined mine close to the Sulphur River's Asch Creek, until the Regiment returned. Unfortunately disaster struck soon afterwards, when the 24th was almost completely destroyed by an Ork ambush and its few survivors were unable to warn Kaine about their defeat. An Ork Warboss then led a horde against the unsuspecting Platoon[1a], along with Parchett, the Ratling Sniper Hookey, the 24th's Hive Militia and other civilians the Regiment left behind as well.[1b] Though vastly outnumbered, the 3rd is unaware that the Orks only have a limited time to battle the Platoon, before the horde has to return to the Xenos' main camp.[1a] Should he survive the Orks' attack, Parchett will write about the 3rd Platoon's victory, which will mark it among the famous ones won by the Imperium.[1b]
Trivia
- The Mordian 24th[1a] and Parchett[1b] were created by the Games Workshop employee Jervis Johnson. They were featured in Citadel Journal 48.[1a][1b]
- The Last Stand at Asch Creek is a modified version of the Battle of Glazer's River scenario, which appeared in White Dwarf 222 (UK). Besides the change in Regiment and location,[1a] the Platoon is led by Kaine, instead of Caine. The names of the characters Hookey and Blikk, however, remain the same.[1b]
