The Revenant Titan, or Revenant Scout Titan,[6] is the smallest Eldar Titan used often as forward scouts for larger Titans or to provide fire support for conventional forces.[1a]

Overview

Revenant Titan[2]

While all Eldar Titans are quick and agile, the Revenant goes far beyond this, with its compact size allowing it to move with a speed and grace that is just plain impossible for the Titans of other races. This manoeuvrability is enhanced even further by a number of jump jets and gravitic motors that turn its movement into a dance of drifting leaps and gentle floating sweeps across the battlefield. A Revenant can easily leap harsh terrain, unleash its firepower against enemy lines, and then use its blinding speed to retreat to safety before the enemy can react.[1a][2]

Revenant Scout Titans are often deployed beside Windriders and Vypers to provide additional firepower when scouting enemy lines, or working in coordination to launch deep strikes against enemy-held objectives to sweep aside opposing forces.[6]

A Revenant Titan is crewed by a single Eldar, known as a Steersman, whose consciousness melds with the spirits contained within the Titan's wraithbone core until they are one. Notably, Revenant Titans are often manned by one of a pair of siblings, with the other of the pair piloting a second titan: Revenants often hunt in packs, their actions coordinated by the psychic link formed by their pilots' blood ties.[1a]

Weapons

In addition to their speed and agility, Revenant Titans are also well-armed, making them formidable foes.[1a] Their primary armament is a pair of Pulsars, immensely powerful laser weapons, although some are instead armed with Sonic Lances. Secondary armament consists of shoulder-mounted Revenant Missile Launchers, loaded with plasma warheads for defence against infantry.[2]

Equipment

The Revenant is principally protected by an image-distorting holo-field projected from the titan's fins capable of confusing auspices and targeters of all types. Revenant Titans are also equipped with jump jets, powered by the gasses of its plasma reactor, which allow the Revenant to leap over impossibly large elements of the terrain.[2]

Development History

Jes Goodwin sketch of the Revenant Scout Titan

The Revenant Scout Titan has more than one aesthetic design as a result of differing consensus between Bonesinger Design Schools. All have the same weapons and characteristics, but as dominant schools changed the older designs are seen less often but both are known as Revenant Titans to Imperial Scholars.[1b]

The Revenant Scout Titan was one of several Eldar Vehicles and Titans with more than one model. Design Schools were introduced in Epic Swordwind (2005) as an in-universe explanation for this difference in Eldar designs in Epic.
