Biography
Rodin and Rinda Karnak were born to Tertium nobility on Atoma Prime and would eventually join the Moebian 6th.[3]
The twins were known for their brutality to both comrades and enemies. The Karnaks were also known for their loyalty to Biron Wolfer, an officer who would regularly bail the Karnaks out of trouble with the regiment's leadership. Troopers aquainted with the Karnaks believed they weren't fit to be officers. Rodin would regularly beat new recruits within an inch of their life and Rinda had many quarrels of her own with troopers who sometimes went missing.[1a]
Nox Alpha
When the Moebian 6th were deployed to Nox Alpha their bad behavior continued as usual. One of their few redeeming qualities to their fellow guardsmen was their ferocity and brutality against their enemies. As supplies ran low during the Nox Alpha Campaign, hints of Rinda Karnak's habit of cannibalism, amongst her and her close compatriots, began to become readily apparent.[1a]
Battle for Tertium
During the Moebian 6th Invasion of Tertium, Rodin and Rinda Karnak would keep control over the Carnival and Torrent district of Tertium in Captain Wolfer's absence.[1c]
Orthus Offensive
At some point in the Torrent, Rodin and Rinda would receive a missive from Wolfer about a Mourningstar striketeam being sent after them and would set a trap for the operatives. This mission was dubbed the Othus Offensive. It was planned and orchestrated by Explicator Zola. The initial intent of the mission was to capture one of the Karnaks for interrogation and killing the other, if needed. The plan would go awry as Zola senior, Interrogator Rannick, attempted to extract the team shortly after their arrival in the sewers due to having known Wolfer set a trap for the strike team. The Karnak Twins would ambush the Inquisitorial stike team multiple times, eventually leading the operatives into their lair below Magistratum Enforcer Station TM8-77. This final encounter would lead to their deaths at the hands of Inquisitor Grendyl's Rejects, or so the Inquisition thought.[1b]
Herald of Admonition
Rodin Karnak had died during the Orthus Offensive, but Rinda Karnak had barely survived her grievous wounds. The quick intervention of the Admonition cultists who found her among the corpses, barely hanging onto life. The cultists believe her survival is due in part to blessing bestowed upon her by Nurgle. She would be offered an honoured place amongst the cult, her new family, as the Herald of Admonition. After her defeat, cultists would bring Rinda's unconscious body to their dreg leaders. Two of the cult's ruling triumvirate, Urmal and another mysterious leader, would apply medicae to save Rinda. Urmal would describe Rinda as a "biological aberration" and would tinker with her medicae, mixing one of her special concoctions in. As Rinda recovered from her wounds, she would contemplate veangance for her brother's death and be indoctrinated into the teaching of the cult.[4]
Dark Communion
Eventually Admonition would enact a dark ritual involving Rodin Karnak's corpse. The grand ritual involved mounting Rodin's corpse on a large metal Chaos Oktad covered in glowing Dark Tongue runes. Several large vats of blighted stimms were connected to Rodin's corpse via tubes.[1d]
