People of Tertium, hear me! We are the Moebian VIth, returned and redeemed. Their chains no longer bind us, their bastions can no longer hold us. Once we were lost, like you. Blinded by faith and acceptance. Only when our eyes were opened did we truly see the lies for what they were. We are your sons. We are your daughters. We have come home. It is our solemn pledge to bring about a new and glorious age of freedom and prosperity. Join us and cast off the falsehoods of the Imperium![1a]

Captain Wolfer

Captain Biron Wolfer accompanied by his trusted Lieutenants, the Karnak Twins[1a]

Captain Biron Wolfer is the de facto leader of the Moebian 6th[1] after Colonel Gortun went missing on Nox Alpha and the great schism that lead the remaining Loyalist Guardsmen of the Moebian Sixth being wiped out and the rest converting to the worship of Nurgle.[1c]

Biography

Wolfer's tough but he is fair. Raw recruit or lifer: cross him and you're done.

— Unknown Moebian Sixth Lasman[1c]

Wolfer's scars? He earned them saving men under his command, so watch your lip, got it?

— Unknown Moebian Sixth Lasman[1c]

Alongside the majority of his regiment, Wolfer was born and raised on Atoma.[2] During his time as an officer, he would personally train new recruits under his command and guide them during close quarters drill. Due to his training regimen and how he was personally involved in their training, he earned respect and admiration from countless new recruits and even veterans of the Moebian Sixth. Wolfer held no biases towards anyone; regardless if they were raw recruits, conscripts or veterans of the regiment, he would treat them all equally. He and his regiment participated in countless battles in the "Fringe War". During this time he personally lead his men from the front and earned multiple scars due to saving the lives of his men.[1c]

Nox Alpha Campaign

What a miserable karking world this is. What does the Emperor want with Nox Alpha?

— Unknown Moebian Sixth Lasman[1c]

Colonel Gortun and the rest of the Moebian Sixth officers, including Wolfer, received orders from high command as they would be sent to Nox Alpha and conquer it. Many members of the Moebian Sixth from enlisted Lasmen, NCOs and even some officers saw Nox Alpha as a death sentence; despite this many would still obey their orders and be shipped to Nox Alpha.[1c]

During the initial landing on Nox Alpha, they encountered heavy resistance which led to the deaths of five thousand men. Yet the Moebian Sixth would press on and managed to conquer territories and set up military bases on Nox Alpha. However, issues arose during the campaign - the air was found to be so toxic that they were infected by unnatural plagues, unknown enemies spread plague in which entire garrisons were wiped out and bases overrun, and low morale due to low supplies and no reinforcements. Eventually Colonel Gorton and his officers invited "priests" into the regiment to aid them during their campaign.[1c]

In reality the priests that were invited to the regiment were slowly corrupting the officers, resulting in a number of unexplained phenomena. One such incident occurred in Nihil Gorge, where Colonel Gortun's abilities were enhanced and inspired his men to continue fighting.[1c]

During the early Nox Alpha Campaign, Wolfer still a Lieutenant met and worked with Vincent Morrow and his Ogryn bodyguard named Brunt as "Inspection Officers" from sector command but in reality both were working under Rannick's orders to investigate the Moebian Sixth. Wolfer complained to them that he didn't want bureaucrats and all he wanted are more Tanks and Ammunition for the campaign. Despite the initial relationship with Wolfer being dismissive to them, Wolfer would treat them with some degree of begrudging respect. Morrow would request the use of one of Wolfer's Valkyrie gunships and a pilot in order to transport the "Inspection Officers" to investigate an undisclosed location on the planet, as order by Morrow's higher-ups. After Morrow returned, he would remain quiet about their investigation when speaking with Wolfer and subsequently parted ways at some point after.[1h]

One day Colonel Gortun went missing, never to be seen again. Wolfer took over and continued the campaign while the priests continued to aid the Moebian Sixth. Eventually Wolfer and the Lasmen under his command fell to chaos due to the influence of the Stranger, Wolfer shot Commissar Magsen dead and[1d] and he starts secretly contacting the Cult of Admonition. A great schism arose when Wolfer and his men open fired on uncorrupted members, taking them by surprise while they were disorganised. No one outside Nox Alpha never knew the Moebian Sixth had fallen to Chaos and the Loyalist remnants would be completely wiped out and their skulls taken. Agents of Inquisitor Grendyl's warband eventually managed to recover their skulls and record the experiences of their long dead ghosts due to warp influences.[1c]

Current Day

After the culling of the regiment's Loyalists on Nox Alpha[1c], Lord Margrave would eventually recall the Moebian Sixth to deal with a cult uprising and unknown plagues.[3] Once Wolfer and his men were in position they openly declared their true allegiances to the Cult of Admonition on all vox channels and started massacring both military and the civilian population in a effort to weaken the hive and take over.[3][4] After remaining under the radar for an unspecified amount of time, he would resurface,[1h] subsequently being captured by Arbites Exaction Squad EO-K127.[1e]

Now a prisoner, Wolfer would be handed over to the Arbites' Tancred Bastion for transport and holding. Upon being notified of this, Interrogator Rannick would dispatch Explicator Zola to oversee the prisoner's transport. She would depart immediately upon being informed.[1h] However, while in orbit of Atoma Prime, the Moebian 6th would infiltrate the prison transport ship. Their initial ambush within the vessel nearly killed Explicator Zola while she was inspecting the prisoners. Waves of poxwalkers were used in the traitor infiltration, using a bomb-rigged poxburster to break Wolfer out of his cell. After returning planetside, Wolfer would continue to command his Moebian 6th in the Battle for Tertium.[1c][1f]

Unbeknownst to Grendyl's warband for some time, Wolfer wasn't simply cobelligerents with a local cult of dregs, but apparently subservient to the Chaos Cult known as Admonition.[1i]
