Satavic Yuel
Satavic Yuel is a Lord Explorator of Gryphonne IV and one of the few survivors of the Forge World's destruction by Hive Fleet Leviathan.[1a]
Yuel's many mechanical augmentations include a carapace dotted with sensors and four locomotive limbs splayed out beneath the bulk of his considerable, insectile mass.[1c]
History
Yuel witnessed many wonders in his 6 centuries as an explorator,[1e] and he has been awarded many badges and signifiers of his accolades and accomplishments: the War-Griffon’s Crest, for his service to the Legio during the Yhuripedian Expedition, the chained grimoire of the Keepers of Lexarchy and the star field of the Explorator order. Proudest of all was the winged wreath, marking Yuel as a quaestor, a rank he would likely never rise beyond. Much like his former flagship, the majority of these badges and signifiers of office and accolade only exist in memory. He also serves as the forge-synod's interrogators.[1d]
It had been Yuel’s influence that had ensured Talin Sherax acceded to the role of ductrix of the Peregrinus after its previous master expired. She had been his able student for over a century – diligent, dutiful, and thoroughly committed to the Quest for Knowledge. While she had not, before the fall, proven to be especially dynamic as an independent explorator, Yuel had valued her contributions as a member of his flotilla.[1c]
Lord Yuel's ship and flagship of Explorator Fleet Rhi-Alpha-2, the Kurzgesagt, was destroyed by Tyranids while laden with refugees and fleeing the their Homeworld's destruction.[1b] The Kurzgesagt was gutted by bio-plasma while fighting to exit of Gryphonne IV's thermosphere during the planet's evacuation. It was one of many ships that limped behind the rest of the diaspora fleet as they fled the Gryphonne System. Yuel had remained connected to his ship through every moment of its agony. It had taken a direct order from Arch-Dominus Arcophili Zane to compel him to abandon it, and join the refugee masses that huddled aboard their saviours’ craft.[1c]
