Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is the sequel to 2011's Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine. This second entry in the series was devloped by Saber Interactive and published by Focus Entertainment for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and Microsoft Windows on 9 September 2024[2].
In early 2025, a sequel was announced already in the early stages of development.[4]

Story
A Tyranid splinter fleet of Hive Fleet Leviathan has invaded the Imperial Recidious System, causing Archmagos Nozick Beta 12 to call for aid in order to protect the secretive "Project Aurora". Demetrian Titus, who has served in the Deathwatch for nearly a century since the events of the first game, is sent with his team to aid in the defense of Kadaku.[6a]

Gameplay Modes
- Campaign: Players control Ultramarines Lieutenant (formerly Captain) Titus as he seeks to combat the Tyranids across a variety of worlds. Titus is accompanied by Chairon and Gadriel throughout the campaign who can be controlled by other players in the game's cooperative multiplayer mode or by AI in single player. Players can also fight alongside non-playable Imperial Guard allies. After each successful mission, players return to their Battle Barge which acts as a home base where one can modify their load-out and stats.[2]
- Operations Mode: Players choose one of six highly customizable classes and engage in various missions. Completion of missions results in in-game currency and XP to modify your character.[2]
- Eternal War: Twelve players are formed into two teams of six to battle one another as either Space Marines or Chaos Space Marines. Modes include annihilation deathmatch, seize and control, or capture and control. Completing games results in rewards that allows players to upgrade their character.[2]
- Siege Mode: Revealed in 2025. Mode consists of fighting off escalating waves of enemies alongside other players.[5]
