Xhakoruakh, the Shadow-King, was the brother of Azoruakh and a powerful Mandrake king of Aelindrach who, during the Dysjunction,[1a] was corrupted by Nurgle.[1b]

History

Xhakoruakh and his "brother" Azoruakh,[1a] spawned by the same creator,[1d] vyed for years for control of parts Aelindrach in a series of deadly skirmishes each earning the marks of many Mandrakes. Xhakoruakh maintained an exchange of slaves and an alliance with Bellathonis after the Haemonculus freed the Mandrake from one of Zykleiade's traps within the labyrinth of the Black Descent set at Azoruakh's behest,[1a] allowing Xhakoruakh to escape in the shadows of his footsteps.[2]

Dysjunction

During the Dysjunction of El'uriaq Xhakoruakh forged a pact with Nurgle[1c] and devoted his Mandrakes to the dark god and unleashed a flood of diseased Ur-Ghuls[1b] upon Low Commorragh,[1d] in time becoming a bloated giant of a Mandrake and earning a heavily corroded oozing scythe.[1c] When Bellathonis (in the body of Kharbyr) and his Wrack Xagor escaped into Aelindrach and sought refuge with Xhakoruakh,[1a] offering his services to build a set of nine Grotesques to unseat his brother.[1a] Together the Mandrakes and Grotesques marched on Azoruakh's fortress and his arcane technology finding only a headless Tzeentch-corrupted body – Kheradruakh had arrived first.[1c]

At the heart of Azoruakh's fortress lay the Vault of Ascension which opened into the labyrinth of the Black Descent.[1d] Xhakoruakh fought ahead to the library of the Black Descent, with Bellathonis and his remaining two Grotesques lagging behind and losing both Grotesques to Castigators,[1e] finding within the library Kharbyr (in the body of Bellathonis) and Archon Yllithian and in the same moment being beset by the Talos Vhi. In the same moment Xhakoruakh slew the Talos, he was decapitated by Kheradruakh.[1e]
