The name "Caeustus Metalicus" roughly translates from latin to English as to a name with dual meaning. The first word, [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cestus_(boxing) Caestus] being a fighting glove often used in gladiatorial matches, akin to the sport of boxing. The second word Metallican is similar to the latin [https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/metallicus metallicus] can either be interpreted as the latin describing something as ''"of or belonging to metal, metallic"'', or if used as a noun in latin meaning ''"miner; a digger of metals"''. Both are apt, if coincidental, descriptions of the ship and the events of the game.

Caestus Metalican in orbit of Silva Tenebris.[2a]

The Caestus Metalican is an Ark Mechanicus commanded by a triumvirate of Adeptus Mechanicus Magi.[2a] Magos Dominus Faustinius of Mars, Tech-Acquisitor Scaevola, and Lector-Dogmatis Videx make up the triumvirate directing the salvage expedition on the newly rediscovered world Silva Tenebris.

The world is eventually discovered to be a Necron Tomb World and the triumvirate must weigh the options of how address this. Whether the expedition should purge the threat, plunder the tombs, or take a more balanced approach.[1]
