Caestus Metalican
From Warhammer 40k - Lexicanum
The Caestus Metalican is an Ark Mechanicus commanded by a triumvirate of Adeptus Mechanicus Magi.[2a] Magos Dominus Faustinius of Mars, Tech-Acquisitor Scaevola, and Lector-Dogmatis Videx make up the triumvirate directing the salvage expedition on the newly rediscovered world Silva Tenebris.
The world is eventually discovered to be a Necron Tomb World and the triumvirate must weigh the options of how address this. Whether the expedition should purge the threat, plunder the tombs, or take a more balanced approach.[1]

Trivia

The name "Caeustus Metalicus" has 2 possible translations to English from Latin:
- The first word, Caestus being a fighting glove often used in gladiatorial matches, akin to the sport of boxing.
- The second word, "Metallican", is similar to the Latin metallicus can either be interpreted as the Latin describing something as "of or belonging to metal, metallic", or if used as a noun in Latin meaning "miner; a digger of metals". Both are apt, if coincidental, descriptions of the ship and the events of the game.
