Aun'ui Kir'qath
History
Deployed as part of the Tau coalition on Cao Quo, Kir'qath began to investigate the mysterious Syra renegade group when she was attacked and went missing. The Ethereal Yor'i then organises an Elemental Council consisting of the Fireblade Swordlight, Earth Caste engineer Ke, Water Caste operative Orr, Air Caste pilot Sei, and Gue'vesa agent Jules Rare to retrieve her.[1a]
The group is eventually able to track Kir'qath down to the abandoned Human manufactorum city of Dai-Quo Magnus just as it is attacked by Raptors-led Human rebels. During the fighting, Jules gives her life to rescue Kir'qath and reveals she was sent to kill Yor'i and tells Kir'qath to trust no one. Afterwards, Kir'qath goes missing again and Yor'i blames the Human insurgency, attempting to use it as an excuse organise a bloody retaliation against the population of Cao Quo.[1c]
As the rest of the Elemental Council continue to investigate, they eventually find Kir'qath again, this time having been recovered by Commander Nobledawn and brought aboard the floating Tau forward operations base above Cao Quo.[1c] Kir'qath later states to the group that she suspects a Tau traitor is behind the Syra and discontent undermining the Tau efforts on Cao Quo, and is actively aiding the Raptors insurgent leader Artamax. But before they can reach any firm conclusions as to who, the station is soon attacked by Imperial forces.[1d] As the station comes under attack, a Callidus Assassin revealed to have been impersonating Yor'i appears and attempts to kill Kir'qath, but she is saved by Orr and able to escape.[1e]
Ultimately, the Tau base crashes onto Cao Quo as the Elemental Council uncovers the conspiracy by Artamax and the Assassin impersonating Yor'i to spread disharmony throughout the Empire. Kir'qath dies in the crash, though her mangled body is recovered by the Tau.[1f]
