Ela'Ashbel Ansgar

"She was little more than a child when the end had come. It had wrapped her up like the arms of her long-dead mother, embracing her as though it were a haven or a new beginning. But she could see the true nature of things – she was the ehveline. She could see the deceptions and the illusions pouring out of the future, smothering her sight and striving to leave her swaddling in the present. She was so much more than a child when the end had come, and she had seen it for what it was: the end of days" – “The Tears of Blood: The Chronicles of Ela’Ashbel, vol.2 by Deoch Epona, Craftworld Kaelor[3]

Ela'Ashbel's Tears of Blood[2]

Ela'Ashbel Ansgar is the Farseer of Craftworld Kaelor,[1] and one of the Ehveline, a reincarnation of the lost daughter of Isha and an incredibly powerful Farseer.[4a] She was blinded in a Psychic battle with the Dark Apostle Kor Phaeron[3] in M38[5] such that she weeps blood as she uses her gift of prophecy.[3]

History

Childhood

Ela'Ashbel was an infant when her father, Bedwyrn Ansgar, was executed for rebellion against the Circular Court of Craftworld Kaelor but was spared along with her brother Naois Ansgar by the intervention of her rumoured mother: the Lady Ione Tiertu, consort to the Zhogahn Iden Teirtu, and was entrusted to the Seers of House Yuthran.[4a]

The Yuthran Seers included Cinnia Yuthran (the instigator of the secret Isha-ann Pleasure Cult). Ela'Ashbel underwent the "Rite of Alastrinah", which revealed her to be an incredibly powerful Psyker capable of prophecy. For her young age and her sapphire blue eyes the Seers concluded that she is the Ehveline, an reincarnation of the lost daughter of Isha to whom her godly mother gifted with the secrets of the universe.[4f] The rite revealed to her a prophecy of blood. The Yuthran Seers viewed her as Vaugnh, an abomination, and her presence disquieted them such that they did nothing to stop her from walking out of the rite and and following her visions of prophecy.[4a]

She found her brother Naois within the Warp Spiders Aspect Temple, where he had become the incarnation of the Lhykosidae, the constituted Warp Presence of the Craftworld’s Warp Spiders and agent of the Infinity Circuit, and she would serve by his side as the "Araconid" Warlock.[4b] Together they marched upon the centre of the craftworld with House Ansgar as the Isha-ann Pleasure Cult interred the spirit stone of the psychologically tortured Iden Teirtu into the circuit, shattering it and releasing its spirits upon the craftworld. Realizing they were unable to stop the cult, the siblings watched in horror as the Maelstrom tore into the palace of the Farseer (the hereditary leader of the craftworld, and member of the pleasure cult). Aware they could not prevent it the siblings left the Guardians of House Ansgar to bar what would come from the gates.

Instead, her cousin Scilti Ansgar pushed through the gates and went on a hedonistic killing spree, where Ela'Ashbel's prophecy came to call: she and her brother with the Exarchs of all shrines but the Dire Avengers stormed the palace before those within could invite Slaanesh into the craftworld, denying the prophecy. In the wake of the conflict, Farseer Ahearn Rivalin (who had, as a member of the Isha-ann orchestrated the Craftworld's proximity to the Maelstrom and the near-destruction of the Infinity Circuit[4c]) took Ela'Ashbel under his foul mentorship and granted her a seat on his Circular Council.[4e]

Ela'Ashbel was visited by a new prophecy: that a Chaos Sorcerer upon the world of Tyrine within the Maelstrom was pulling the craftworld to a grim sacrifice. This new prophecy was dismissed by the Farseer, who had seen her intervention and saw it as an opportunity to hobble the young Ehveline and instead relegated her to a locked room within one of his ruined towers.[3]

Ela'Ashbel was rescued by the Warp Spider Aspect Warriors, some of the only surviving warriors of the craftworld with allegiance to her, and at her lead escorted her to Tyrine. Upon the world they were not just ambushed by the Chaos Cultists and Word Bearers they expected, but a contingent of Dark Angels which Ahearn Rivalin and the Isha-ann Pleasure Cult had orchestrated to appear on the world and bar her progress.[3]

All of her Warp Spider bodyguard were felled and weakened she engaged in a psychic battle with the Dark Apostle Kor Phaeron – Ela'Ashbel folded his mind upon itself and saw within the future of his former master: Erebus, who smiled upon her and closed her eyes. The Word Bearers were defeated but the victory was not without repercussions: her sapphire eyes were destroyed, tears of blood flowed from her face. She alone returned to Kaelor where the waiting Farseer Rivalin took her by the hand to lead her into his corrupt mentorship.[3]

Recent History

It is unclear if Ela'Ashbel joined with the Isha-ann Pleasure Cult or destroyed it, but she is now the sole Farseer of Kaelor[2] and screams into combat beside her warhost in a modified Vyper.[6]

In late M41[5] she realised the prophecy of her youth[3] and moved her whole craftworld to counter Erebus in the Pyrus Reach Sector and orchestrated multiple offensives to move against him and his dark forces, redirecting Waaagh! Garzulk into the sector, luring the Dark Angels of the Fourth Company, Enoch Helfrich and Helfrich's Hellblasters, and the Grey Knight forces of Ordo Malleus Inquisitor Alabel Santos together to defeat the Dark Apostle.[2]
