Götterdämmerung Howitzer
The Götterdämmerung Howitzer is an artillery piece used by the Imperial Guard, developed to provide cheap and plentiful artillery support during Krieg's five-hundred year long civil war.[1]
Its simplicity in design allows the Götterdämmerung to be used in prodigious numbers, while the fact that it fires the same shell as the Earthshaker Cannon lessens its logistical burden.[1] The howitzer is also much simpler to construct than the Basilisk - it is estimated to take roughly a quarter of the man-hours to produce a Götterdämmerung compared to producing a Basilisk, allowing it to be used in great numbers. A particularly famous offensive during the civil war was said to have been preceded by a 100,000 gun barrage lasting for more than a month.[2]
The weapon cannot move under its own power and must be towed by an appropriate vehicle such as the Bruennhilde.[1]
Known Patterns

Trivia
- This pattern of vehicle is named for both the German translation of Ragnarok, the "twilight of the gods" from Norse mythology, and the last entry of Richard Wagner's 4-part Ring cycle (this parallels the Ragnarok Heavy Tank and the Bruennhilde, both of which have similarly-themed names).
- The weapon's appearance is mostly likely based off of the 42 centimeter kurze Marinekanone 14 L/12 gun, aka "M-Gerät" or "Big Bertha," as well as its similar functional inability to move on its own requiring it to be towed.
