Half-Track
From Warhammer 40k - Lexicanum
(Redirected from Half-track)
The Half-Tracks of the Astra Militarum are vehicles that are used for reconnaissance.[1] Depending on the model, they are crewed by two or three Guardsmen.[1][2]
Description
Multiple models of Half-Track are used across the galaxy.
The two-ton buggies have rear caterpillar tracks, a mesh flatbed and pintle-mounted heavy stubbers. While one Guardsman drives the vehicle, the other sits in a roll cage behind them and will heave themselves up to use the stubbers that are above them.[1]
Other Half-track models have longer double-tracks and are armed with a missile launcher platform[2] or a flat bed-mounted hydra battery.[8] The forces of Chaos also make use of half-tracks, arming them with heavy bolters and searchlights.[9]
Known Half-Tracks
- AM-10 Hammer Goats — Indigenous to the Eighth Amartine Scout Cavalry. The Eight's Guardsmen call the vehicles AM-10 Scapegoats, as they are considered to be death traps for their crews in battle.[1]
- Centaur RSV - A Rapid Strike Vehicle. It is an open-topped transport vehicle used by the Astra Militarum.
- Heracles Halftrack — Logistics vehicle used by the Astra Militarum.[3]
- N20 Halftrack — Used by the forces of Chaos in the Sabbat Worlds Crusade.[6]
- N22 Halftrack — Used by the forces of Chaos in the Sabbat Worlds Crusade.[7]
- Pulpitek — A custom-made half-track that is crewed by the Redemptionist Klovis the Redeemer.[4]
