House Ran Lo is one of the seven Noble Houses of Necromunda's Hive Primus.[1]

Overview

House Ran Lo serves as the bankers and creditors of Necromunda, managing the planet's debts and loans to ensure wealth remains with Lord Helmawr. This vital and discreet role makes them essential to the Imperial House but despised by other Great Houses. Unlike their peers, House Ran Lo exerts power by controlling finances rather than through political maneuvering. Members are known for their austere, serious demeanor and preference for severe, dark clothing, making their social events unappealing to other nobles. Despite their austere nature, they maintain a long-standing alliance with House Orlock, who efficiently transport goods to Hive Primus, ensuring the continuous flow of Necromunda's wealth.[7a]

Auditing Conclave

To ensure their investments yield expected returns, House Ran Lo may send an Auditing Conclave. These severe auditors can impose crippling taxes or cut off access to the Merchant Guild, inflicting lasting damage on settlements, organisations, or gangs. Auditing Conclaves prefer firsthand inspections and do not shy away from combat, using suppression and non-lethal weapons. If seriously threatened, their bodyguards, known as Gelt-scriveners, step in. These combat-hardened individuals work off their debts through service and fight fiercely to protect the auditors, knowing that their obligations to House Ran Lo will never end if their master dies.[7b]

Spyre Hunters

Like the sons and daughters of most Noble Houses, young Ran Los are sent in Spyrer teams to the Underhive to prove themselves tough and resourceful enough to take their place among the ruling families.[3]

The female Spyrers of Ran Lo all wear dark lacquered braid on their body suits in the customary manner of the warrior women of their house.[2]
