House Ty is one of the seven Noble Houses of Necromunda's Hive Primus.[1]

Overview

House Ty claims its ancestry from the Nihon Empire and Dragon Isle of Ancient Terra, though the authenticity of this connection is debatable. Nonetheless, House Ty's nobles adopt the customs and attire of ancient Nihon, possibly because it is one of the youngest noble houses and eager to assert its identity. This ambition aligns with their close alliance with House Delaque, making other Noble Houses cautious of openly opposing them.[5b]

House Ty specializes in communication and espionage, maintaining more psykers than any other noble house (how they do this is unknown) and supplying many recruits to the Adeptus Astra Telepathica. On Necromunda, many of Lord Helmawr’s psykers and astropaths are affiliated with House Ty, wearing jade robes along with their official mantles. It is rumoured that House Ty, and ultimately House Delaque, are privy to all secrets communicated to Lord Helmawr. The nature of the compensation House Ty receives for these secrets is unknown, causing unease among the other noble houses.[5b]

Spyre Hunters

Lady Kotoko of House Ty[5d]

Like the sons and daughters of most Noble Houses, young Tys are sent in Spyrer teams to the Underhive (teams of seven young noblemen in House Ty custom) to prove themselves tough and resourceful enough to take their place among the ruling families.[2][3]

In preparation for the hunt, the young nobles learn the rudiments of combat in their hunting rigs during practice bouts with each other and members of the House Ty militia.[2]

Onmyodo Covens

Onmyodo Covens are teams of a single powerful telepathic psyker and null who are employed by Necromunda's House Ty.[5c]

Quotes

'Have that bed destroyed,' he said to the attendants. 'Or better yet, clean it up and send it to Lord Ту as a birthday present.' The attendants scribbled furiously. It didn't matter whether it was Ty's birthday or not. None of Helmawr's attendants would ever contradict him.
