The Kronus Hegemony is a major League of the Leagues of Votann.[1]

Overview

Kronus Hegemony warriors[1]

A relatively young League, it was founded less than a millennium ago when the Fane of Kôrynn's Kindred achieved self-awareness. This newly ascended Ancestor Core exhibited an aggressive drive for knowledge and demanding appetite for raw materials. Prior to this, the Kindred had been relatively minor and part of the faltering Kapellan League. Upon their new boon they broke away and formed their own League, drawing many Kin to them from across Votann civilization.[2]

The Kin of the Kronus Hegemony display a trademark aggression which often veers into outright belligerence. This has only become more pronounced as the centuries have passed and their might has grown. A Kindred wishing to join the Hegemony must first offer suitable tribute to earn its place, and its Kin must swear martial oaths of service that are considered eternally binding. It is expected that their Hold and fleets will focus upon war, and that they will train and equip massive Kinhost forces. The expectation of tribute does not end with joining the Hegemony, for each Kindred must prove their commitment by conquering an allotted quota of enemy worlds each year, sending the spoils back to Kôrynn's Kindred for their Votann's defense. Since the formation of the Great Rift, they have wasted little time in annexing new territories belonging to alien races.[2]

Such is their bellicosity that they have even engaged in border skirmishes with other Leagues and have a reputation for finding any excuse to escalate into full-blown war against other races. It has been suggested that many of Grudges declared by the Kronus Hegemony owe as much to a need to justify conflict as they do a genuine desire for vengeance. That said, its Kin are notoriously stiff-necked and quick to anger. For all this, many Kin are glad to have the aid of this League as increasing numbers of Holds are beset by enemy invaders.[2]
