Soft Skinned Vehicle is a general term for several types of non-armoured Astra Militarum vehicles. They are usually used by Regiments whose Homeworlds, are unable to provide them with the vehicles the Astra Militarum normally has at its disposal.[1]
Known Types of Soft Skinned Vehicles
- Ambulances - Used as medical vehicles.[1]
- ARV - Used to recover vehicles that have become stuck in difficult terrain.[1]
- Engineering Vehicles - Used in various roles to support an attack or to prepare defenses. This includes building or destroying fortifications and clearing minefields.[1]
- Bridgers - A type of Engineering Vehicle, that can lay a bridge across impassible terrain, like rivers or trenches. Bridgers can also deploy ladders against cliffs and walls, so they can be scaled by the Astra Militarum.[1]
- Scout Cars - Used for scouting and searching for hidden enemies.[1]
- Softskin Transport - Used as transports for Astra Militarum forces.[1]

Trivia
- The name of the author who created Soft Skinned Vehicles is not known. The article was printed in Firepower Issue 4 over three years after originally being submitted, due to it having been placed somewhere and then forgotten about. By the time it was finally found, Games Workshop had lost the author's name.[1]
