In the ten thousand years since those legendary times, many such vehicle designs have been lost. The Adeptus Mechanicus are unwilling to recreate them, fearing the wrath of the Machine God. Throughout the span of time between the Horus Heresy and M41, entire vehicle patterns may be discovered, see considerable use, and then fall into disfavor for many reasons.
