The Peregrinus is a Magellenic Class Explorator of the Adeptus Mechanicus.[1c] Talin Sherax of Gryphonne IV is the ship's Ductrix and Explorator Superior commanding the vessel and all aboard.[1a]
History
The Peregrinus was constructed over many long decades in the crowded void-yards above the Forge World of Gryphonne IV.[1b]
The Explorator Fleet Rhi-Alpha-2 would arrive in the Gryphonne System not long before evacuation order were made by the forge synod. Just as the fleet passed the orbit of Gryphonne V did the flagship, the Kurzgesagt, receive the orders. During the evacuation, the Peregrinus would enter at the edge of the atmosphere in low orbit of the dying world for 3.62 minutes. The ship's superstructure would groan under the pull of gravity is wasn't made to endure. The floatila of Re-Alpha 2 would begin quickly depart the swarmed world. Of the 9 voidships making up the Explorator Fleet Rhi-Alpha-2 prior to Gryphonne IV's destruction, the Peregrinus would be one of the 6 that survive the evacuation of the Forge World. [1b]
During Explorator Talin Sherax's expedition into the Space Hulk Misery's Daughter, the Peregrinus would lay at anchor in close proximity to the southern pole of the space hulk for four days.[1f] Within the space hulk was the Almagest, a bleak and unsettling mirror of the Peregrinus nearly identical in their construction and ornamentation from the Magellenic Class Explorator STC template. Both were created in the voidyards of Gryphonne IV, but the Peregrinus was created 1,400 years after the Almagest.[1h]
