A Hernkyn Yaegir[1a]

Hernkyn Yaegirs are a subclass of Hernkyn within the Leagues of Votann.[1a]

Overview

You misunderstand, human. I am not here to debate. I am not here to compromise. What you see as yours, I am taking for my kindred. You want to bargin? Tôryk, unholster our means of negotiation.[3]

While all Hernkyn serve as the honoured rangers and scouts of the Leagues of Votann that look for wealth and settlement opportunities across the Galaxy, Hernkyn Yaegirs act as its elite infantry who are trained for the most dangerous missions. They are typically deployed if Hernkyn Pioneers discover a site of value that is defended by significant enemy forces. Besides acting as purely combat forces, Hernkyn Yaegirs also are capable infiltrators and agents of discord. To avoid unnecessary and bloody campaigns, they sometimes will instigate civil or inter-species wars in targeted regions. When the smoke clears, the Kin of the Leagues of Votann will arrive to claim the spoils from the ruins. Yaegirs have few scruples in achieving this, and will even employ dishonourable terror, raiding, and pirate tactics.[1a]

Operating beyond the fringes of Leagues territory, Yaegirs wear adaptable suits of void armour that is tailored for the individual wearers needs. They are well-equipped for a variety of roles, but prefer short-range bolt weaponry due to their tendency for clandestine, rugged, and sabotage missions in often urban environments. Yaegirs must be flexible and adaptable, and often operate behind enemy lines for extended periods of times. If facing imminent death, the neural makeup of individual Yaegir Kin is stored in a Legacy Vault to one day be uploaded into their League's Ancestor Core.[1a]
