Archimandrite
Archimandrite is a specialization of Magos within the Adeptus Mechanicus.[1a]
These Tech-Priests are masters of Cybertheurgy who are seen as the most prestigious Order of the Higher Tech-Arcana within the complex political hierarchy of the Mechanicum.[1a] Their craft is not the simple hammering of iron, but the manipulation of ideas and the control of other Magi and technology itself. Where other Magi often isolate themselves to focus solely on their work, Archimandrites perceive the vast web of interlinked Tech-Priests and thralls that form the collective body of the Adeptus Mechanicus. As such, most Forge Worlds are governed by initiates of this order, who jealously guard their power and influence.[1b]
If crossed, Archimandrites are capable of fearsome technological abilities that may seem magical to the uninitiated. They are capable of interrupting the programming in technology to force temporary shutdowns, complete data purges of Cogitators, and overcharging reactors to result in violent destruction.[1c]
