Cybernetica Datasmith
Cybernetica Datasmiths are a type of specialist Tech-Priest that work within the Legio Cybernetica. Since the Horus Heresy, they directly operate Imperial Robots on the battlefield.[2]
They constantly reprogram and direct their robotic warriors to ensure they perform as required during battle.[1] Each datasmith is a good warrior in his own right, as all of them have extensive knowledge of the Adeptus Mechanicus and are equipped with many types of weapons and tools.[4]
The greatest of the Cybernetica Datasmiths are the Magi Cybernetica. These are masters of the Legio Cybernetica and the only ones who truly know the science behind the Battle-Automata of their order, which they oversee the construction of. They are cold and calculating but were commonly deployed in Expeditionary Fleets of the Great Crusade due to the demand of their forces. More than any other of the Orders of the Higher Tech-Arcana, they held the flesh to be weak and sought to attain the purity of a solely mechanical existence.[6]
