Argarops is a world of the Imperium within Segmentum Solar.[1]
History
Agarops became the site of much violence during the Horus Heresy. In the aftermath of the Battle of Beta-Garmon, Horus and his traitor forces set about securing Segmentum Solar before moving on Terra. This included the Argarops System, which was home to three Solar Auxilia recruitment worlds for the 'Iron Lances' Regiments. However as the Night Lords and Iron Warriors moved in, a random solar flare wreaked havoc on their fleet. Lord Marshal Caztor Di'Ren, a follower of the proto Imperial Cult, declared the solar flare to have been a divine miracle.[1]
In the aftermath of the apparent miracle, Di'Ren turned Agarops and its system into a centre of Emperor-worship from which a Crusade against the traitors could be launched. While only 200 Iron Warriors remained, they were nonetheless able to seize a large industrial complex on Agarops as Di'Ren's further actions resulted in schism and instability. Meanwhile, surviving Night Lords assassinated newly risen religious leaders and rebel commanders alike. The war for Agarops raged until the Great Scouring.[1]
