Argolian Massacres
The Argolian Massacres occurred during the Horus Heresy in 012.M31, when elements of the Word Bearers traced a path of death and destruction across the Argolian Sub-sector.[1]
History
It began when the Sons of Lorgar targeted systems that were left wounded and defenceless in the wake of the destruction wrought by the World Eaters' roving Butcher Fleets. In their attacks, the Word Bearers scoured the region and found refugees cowering in numerous locations throughout the Argolian Sub-sector. This included the subterranean Kentas Hive on Ralnath and the void-docks of Theta-One-Four. These survivors are then corralled and sacrificed in dark rituals of arcane significance by the Traitor Legion. When they were done, the Word Bearers had reaped a death toll of such great magnitude that Daemons began to harken the death-scream of billions echoing through the empyrean.[1]
