Burning of Vrexor
The Burning of Vrexor occurred in the Horus Heresy in 013.M31, when the mineral-rich worlds of the Vrexor Sub-Sector were attacked by the Traitor Forge World Valia-Maximal and in response, the Loyalist Forge World Graia came to their defense.[1]
History
Each Forge World was joined by elements of their respective Titan Legions and the Princeps of Legio Laniaskara and Legio Astraman eagerly sought out their ancient adversaries. They looked to settle old grudges in open battle and the resulting conflict saw scores of the Vrexor Sub-Sector's inhabited worlds suffer as a result. Countless lives were lost on both sides and as the protracted conflict reached a bloody stalemate, the Forge Worlds called out for reinforcements.[1]
This drew more Loyalist and Traitor forces from the surrounding Sub-sectors into their bitter struggle for supremacy. When Graia's call for aid reached the Dark Angels, however, their Primarch, Lion El'Jonson refused to have his Legion take part in the battle. At that time, the Primarch was waging a campaign of vengeance against the Traitors and would not spare any of his Sons from his own bitter war against his treacherous Brothers. El'Jonson did, however, aid Graia's warring forces by sending them elements of the Legio Atarus Titans and House Orhlacc Knights that were accompanying the Primarch's fleet.[1]
