Castellax-Achea Class Robot

The Castellax-Achea Class Robot, also known as the Iron Guardians of Tizca,[3] is a variant of the Castellax Class Robot used by the Thousand Sons.[1]

Overview

Never ones to squander their ranks in bloody attrition, the Thousand Sons Legion employed unliving battle-automata as obedient, resilient, and ultimately expendable shock assault units. As with every other facet of warfare, the Legion believed their psychic arts could improve upon these robotic weapons – and with the secret assistance of their allies in the Forge World of Zhao-Arkhad, the sons of Magnus created the Castellax-Achea. Rather than the cybernetic brains or cognis-wafer blocks employed by standard automata, the Castellax-Achea was governed by a psi-sensitive crystal matrix – an illegal heretek innovation that allowed the Legion's psykers to directly manipulate these robots like murderous puppets with a degree of limited self-will.[2]

Equipment

These Battle-Automata were fitted with a crystalline psi-control matrix that allowed psychic Space Marines to manipulate them like puppets in a fashion far more seamlessly than standard Legio Cybernetica technology.[1] The robots were armed with either a Mauler Bolt Cannon or Æther Flame Cannon.[2]
