The Dominion Genesis, or Turellea Dandramensha in Aeldari,[2a] was a massive type of starship that was used by the Eldar Empire, to create Maiden Worlds. It is unknown what became of the dominion genesis vessels following the Fall of the Eldar.[1] The Eldar saw Dominion Genesis as their tool, god-given by Vaul the Maker, and used it to make a garden of the galaxy.[2a]

Overview

In the crudest terms, the Genesis vessel resembled a fat-bellied, many limbed arachnid. Its centre was a vast disc, studded with domes and etched with valleys. From this central body, equal in scale to a continental shelf of the world below, dozens of ivory arms projected for thousands of miles. Between each limb were stretched gossamer-thin sails that reflected the starlight in a glittering fan of golden threads. The underside of each limb emanated a scarlet light, evidently breathing the transmuting Genesis phenomena down onto the planet below. The arms of the massive craft curled inwards, as though holding the half-made world in an unseen grip.

- Lord Explorator Satavic Yuel's thoughts upon first encountering a Dominion Genesis vessel.[2b]

The backs of Genesis vessels are studded with huge transparent crystalline domes. The interiors of many of these domes feature lush gardens and parks that are filled with sich, black soil and lush vegetation. Alien sculptures of abstract forms and figures are mounted atop plinths and pure white trees, some of which having branches that glow as bright as lumens.[2e]

Genesis Device

The red, glowing crystals that emanate the transmuting power of the Genesis effect was studied for a time by the Gryphonenne Magos Nekane Lucanus. While serving as Archivist Primus aboard the Explorator vessel Almagest, he would come into possession of a small fragment of one of the Genesis device's crystals on an expedition to Ikaneos-Alpha. Magos Lucanus would author many texts, such as A Treatise on the Epistemological Validity of Common Proto-Human Origins, due to his hobby of accumulating and interrogating of various creation myths across Imperial worlds. He proposed that at the centre of every allegorical narrative lay a lost human technology employed in the first millennia when humanity set out to colonise the stars. The knowledge and ability to seed life across barren earth.[2c]

Genesis Phenomena

The Genesis effect could rearrange existing materials into fully functioning life. With only a fragment, Magos Lucanus was able to create a copper and iron garden, verdant and breathing flora, created from the Almagest's command deck.[2f] With enough of these crystals, an entire paradise world can be created from an inhospitable molten hellscape of a planet.[2b]

Encounter

The last known Aeldari Maiden World transformed into a lush paradise using Dominion Genesis was the world now named Ikaneos-Alpha. In M36, Imperial colonizers conquered the world and transformed it into a poisoned, barren wasteland. The world was subsequently scoured of human life and any further human expeditions. The world is now Aeldari necropolis world and a monument to the loss of the Dominion Genesis.[2a]

In early Era Indomitus and 6 years after the fall of Gryphonne IV, a Dominion Genesis vessel was encountered in the process of terraforming an unnamed world. One hemisphere was a verdant paradise and the other a molten hellscape. Biel-Tan Eldar and Necron fleets would fight a battle over this world and the Genesis vessel, in the midst of the conflict the Explorator Talin Sherax would arrive, not long after Idranvel and his Biel-Tan forces.[2b]

Aboard the Dominion Genesis, Sherax would encounter unarmed and passive Necron Warriors droning about in portions of the ancient vessel. Necron technology was grafted onto some Aeldari mechanisms in some parts of the Dominion Genesis vessel.[2e]

Explorator Sherax would ultimately destroy the vessel. Leaving her Eldar foe, Idranvel wounded aboard to experience the destruction of the vessel he sought at great expense to Sherax and Gryphonne IV. She did this by making a Warp jump within the world's gravity well leading the destabilization of the orbit and causing the Dominion Genesis vessel to crash into the world with her Eldar foe Idranvel left wounded.[2d]
