Hippogriff Forward Auspex and Reconnaissance

The Hippogriff Forward Auspex and Reconnaissance is variant of the Salamander Scout, designed to assist ground forces in the triangulation, targeting and guidance of long ranged munitions fired by supporting Militarum and Allied forces.[1][2]

Death from Above - Served in Operation Argentus where it was used to guide Manticore Missiles[1][Trivia]. It is permanently seconded to the Krieg 178th Siege Regiment.[2]

- The Hippogriff Forward Auspex and Reconnaissance was created by Games Workshop employee Andy Barlow, as part of his Operation Argentus army showcasing in White Dwarf's 2023-2024 A Tale of Four Warlords competition, where it was used as a proxxy/counts-as model for a Manticore (Tank).[1] Per Andy on [his Instagram, "[...] This was a handy conversion I did combining the body of a manticore and a Damocles command rhino auspex array. I want to make use of the various artillery options of the guard, without having to paint every varient. This also made sense to me that infantry would have ways of calling in artillery from the neighbouring township, rather than just the next street over[...]"[2]
