Ironhold Protectorate
The Ironhold Protectorate is a semi-autonomous System within the Imperium Sanctus. It is the home of House Kamidar, who are ruled by High Queen Orlah Y'Kamidar.[1a]
History
During the Noctis Aeterna, the Ironhold Protectorate lost contact with the rest of the Imperium and was unsure if Terra even survived the chaos. In the aftermath, they became semi-autonomous, but the Indomitus Crusade eventually arrived to restore their oaths of fealty.[1a]
Its Knights took part in the Battle of Gathalamor and were honoured for their sacrifice by having the Ironhold selected to become an Indomitus Crusade Hub-Fortress. In truth, however, the Imperium merely chose the Ironhold because its strategic location would aid the Crusade's ongoing wars.[1b]
Several years into the Crusade, Battle Group Praxis of Indomitus Crusade Fleet Primus arrived at Kamidar to collect Tithes and resources for their ongoing campaign.[2a] The heavy-handedness of the Imperials, combined with Chaos machinations, eventually caused the two sides to come to blows but, following the death of High Queen Orlah Y'Kamidar at the hands of one of the Hands of Abaddon and the appearance of Red Corsairs, a tenuous ceasefire was eventually agreed upon.[2b] Vitrian Messinius was later dispatched by Roboute Guilliman to oversee the garrisoning of the Protectorate.[2c]
