Scouring of the Pale Stars

The Scouring of the Pale Stars was a series of battles of the Pale Stars campaign, waged between the Salamanders and the Emperor's Children in 012.M31, during the Horus Heresy.[1]

History

It began when scattered elements of the Traitor Legion, fleeing Chemos' destruction, invaded the Pale Stars region that lay near Nocturne. This then led the Salamanders garrisoning their Homeworld to leave and wage a long and bloody campaign against the Emperor's Children. During the battle, the Salamanders tirelessly purged any of the Pale Stars' worlds they discovered had been corrupted by the influence of the Traitor Legion. These worlds would then be re-purified by the Sons of Vulkan, in an effort to prevent the Emperor's Children from establishing a new realm near the borders of Nocturne.[1]
