|This Chapter Master is one of the most active within the Adeptus Astartes.  He cannot rest at peace and so forever seeks opportunities to lead his Battle-Brothers on campaign. As a result, the Angels Encarmine are rarely at full strength, though what they lack in numbers is more than compensated for in determined fervour.

|Astral Knights
|When fifteen Space Marine task forces failed to stop a large Necron World Engine, the Master of the Astral Knights Chapter, adopted a desperate strategy. Forgoing weaponry that had many times proved to be ineffective, Amhrad employed the Astral Knights' Battle Barge itself against the World Engine's shields. The moment the Battle Barge pierced the shields, the Astral Knights had taken to their Drop Pods. For 100 hours and more the Astral Knights wrought havoc against a superior force of tens of thousands of Necron warriors. Reduced in size to the Chapter Master, and five brave Battle-Brothers only then did they succeed in their quest. Amhrad detonated melta-charges that destroyed a vast Necron tomb complex that housed many of the World Engine's command arrays which brought down the vessel's void shields. This allowed the Imperial Navy's starships to destroy the World Engine with cyclonic torpedoes. On the outskirts of the Danorra System lies the scarred and lifeless planet of Safehold.  It is here, in the dead heart of the Battle Barge Tempestus, that a shrine was raised in their memory. Seven-hundred and seventy-two arbalstone statues stand silent vigil amongst the ruined flagship, one for each fallen Battle-Brother of the Astral Knights.

|Chapter Master at the outset of the Badab War. Lazaerek was more than six centuries old and in failing health due to numerous war wounds accumulated in his long career. Widely regarded by Imperial authorities as a bitter and hubristic individual. Along with his entire Chapter, Lazaerek was officially declared lost to the warp and assumed destroyed when their Chapter fleet attempted a warp jump from the Pireaus System, 120 light years from Crows World subsector in 963.M41.1a55

|Former Chapter Master of the Howling Griffons Chapter.  Late in the year 220.M38 the Howling Griffons Chapter were preparing to celebrate their 5,000th anniversary of their Founding. As Chapter Master Orlando Furioso and the First Company made their way to the Chapter's home world, the Daemon Prince Lord Periclitor The Foresworn of the Word Bearers, a substantial force of his Chosen and his Night Lords allies fell upon the Howling Griffons' ship as it traversed the Arios beacon. The battle was a furious one, culminating with Periclitor and his elite boarding Furioso's battle barge aboard their Dreadclaws. The attack crippled the ship, and the defenders were forced to evacuate aboard their Thunderhawks and escape pods. The battle was continued upon the surface of Arios Quintus, where the survivors were surrounded and eventually cut down. The body of Orlando Furioso was mounted upon the fore of his Thunderhawk and left to drift in orbit above the plant for a month before it could be recovered, this permitted that the body and gene-seed to be successfully recovered.

|Current Chapter Master. Known for being a superfluous studier of the Tactica Imperialis, which some claim he has entirely memorized. If this is true, it would indeed be an impressive accomplishment, even among the Adeptus Astartes. Lorgath is an impressive strategist who is perpetually challenging his Captains with tactical exercises.91

|Wearied by a recent prolonged campaign and the losses incurred (two ships and around 300 Battle-Brothers), the Storm Warriors are diverted at the last moment by an order to snuff out a nascent rebellion on the world of Tesra IV. Calan is reluctant to have his Chapter get involved for fear of taking needless casualties. The arrival of Inquisitor Andrijssen allows him to accomplish his mission with no losses whatsover to the Imperial forces.
