The Keshig were the fighting elite of the White Scars and personal bodyguards to Primarch Jaghatai Khan during the Great Crusade and Horus Heresy.[2] They still exist as of the 41st Millennium, where they report directly to the Chapter Master of the White Scars Chapter.[3]

Overview

Consisting of several squads of Terminators, many consisted of veterans who had fought alongside Jaghatai on Chogoris.[1]

In addition to the main body of Legion Keshig, the individual Brotherhoods of the White Scars possessed Keshig. To differentiate them from the main Keshig, these formations were known as minghan-keshig (minghan being the Khorchin word for Brotherhood).[2] Sub-formations of the Keshig existed, which included the Golden Keshig and the Ebon Keshig.[4b]

Today, the Keshig reports directly to the Chapter Command of the White Scars. Its members are selected amongst the Chapter's finest warriors, serving not only as bodyguards but also advisors and executors of the Great Khan's orders. Every one is a champion that has proven himself in battle time and time again. Their wargear is highly ornamental and elaborate, setting them apart from their battle brothers.[3]
