Imperial Fists Heresy-era Terminator

The Huscarls were the elite Terminator bodyguards of Primarch Rogal Dorn during the Great Crusade and Horus Heresy.[1]

Overview

The original Huscarls have their root in the Great Crusade, where their ranks were chosen from the most capable Phalanx Warders. They acted as mobile bastions that served as guardians for vital components of Imperial Fists battleforces while also proving capable battering rams on the attack in their own right, particularly in ship boarding actions.[6] More than mere battlefield combatants, Huscarls were also capable strategists who were able to command large numbers of troops, particularly those involved in defensive operations.[7]

The status of the Huscarls after the Heresy and until the current era is unclear. However since the influx of Primaris Space Marines into the ranks of the Imperial Fists, the Huscarls have been reconstituted by order of Roboute Guilliman. The new Huscarls, however, focus on organising the defense of Imperial worlds.[2]
